Field Service Technician Food Processing Equipment
We are a Chicago based service provider for the food processing and grocery industry. We are looking for an experienced technician to repair high end commercial food processing equipment. The ideal candidate should have the experience as a network engineer, network administrator, IT or network support, or have background in information technology. Additional experience as a network technician or as a computer technician may also be considered.
- Including meat saws,
- Meat grinders,
- Deli and meat slicers,
- Scale systems
- Hi-speed wrapping/ weighing systems.
- A self-disciplined individual with good people skills and good troubleshooting skills is a must.
- Highly motivated with an ability to work under pressure with managing team and client relationships.
- The ability to perform role with decisive judgment, exceptional communication and Integrity.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to independently plan and work effectively.
- Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment within the establishment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, belts,m fans, air conditioners, etc.
- Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble.
- Disassembles machines and repairs or replaces broken parts.
- Adjust functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary.
- Cleans and lubricates parts and orders replacement parts.
- Inspects completed repairs.
- Performs all work with adherence to safety procedures.
- Requisitions new parts and equipment.
- Performs, under general supervision, a variety of tasks requiring a thorough knowledge of fabrication/processing techniques, materials, tools, machines, and equipment relative to area of specialization.
- Works from engineering drawings, rough sketches, manuals, or verbal instructions.
- Devises and utilizes non-standard procedures.
- Constructs components and parts to extremely close tolerances which have unusual or non-standard shapes.
- Works on non-standard materials.
- Assigns and checks work of lower level personnel.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management
- Networking experience is a plus.
Must have previous experience working on food processing equipment, some electrical knowledge, motivated attitude, be presentable to customers, and have a clean driving record. The right candidate will receive factory training. Bilingual is a plus.
